So, this particular url (http://ladyteera.blogspot.com) has been used by me since September 2004. That's slightly more than 2 years plus.

This blog has seen my ups and downs. Throughout.

But at times, you just need to let go of certain things, especially those of the old ones.

And with that, I would like to end with a note...

My last post for 2006. The year with many ups and downs. Currently I am updating this with the sound of techno blasting from the open space over in Serangoon Central due to the New Year countdown party.

Frankly speaking, I don't think I am ready to face a new year. I am not looking forward to a new year, at all.

But at the same time, I just wish 2006 will end quick.

Many things happened in 2006. Both good and bad of course.

Lost a couple of friends (through death and through stupid lil things). Lost someone whom I treated as a brother before, just because he has change. And I really mean it when I say changed.

Started out on my first "real" job. Senior Programme Assistant. Basically do reports and plan programmes for the youth at risk under our programme. Really love what I am doing. But due to certain things (read: people), I guess I have to leave sooner or later.

This is also the year when I got close to a couple of people in 4PM namely most of those who were involved in Camp Voyage '05. But still, a lot of backstabbing ended up happening in the end. But it doesn't matter, does it? Just human nature I guess

I found someone in 2006 too. Someone who has met all of my family members (except my brother & sister-in-law) as well as I've met his family. Someone whom my mother trust enough to let me ride on his bike. Someone my nephew totally adore. Someone my dad will talk to nicely when terserempak kat void deck aft he sent me home. Ouh yes, someone who sends me home all the time after a late night out. Someone who will ask me to speak to mother nicely. Someone who gave me 110% suppport into me making the biggest decision in 2006. Someone who accepts me, just the way I am. Someone who loves me and someone whom I love.

You know what, maybe I should just embrace the arrival of 2007 with open arms. Who knows maybe it'l be a better year for me. Who knows...

It all started in 2003. The pink blouse and grey skirt for the girls and blue shirt and grey pants for the guys. The unwritten rule of no brights coloured bras, black bras and patterened bras for the girls.
The stupid debate of whether the school uniform should change, because the guys' uniform is the same as Tampines ITE and the girls uniform is the same as dunno what factory. The noisy Malay class, filled with students who are not at all interested in the subject, except for a few. And the merger.

In 2004, the 1st Students' Council. Filled with the "rule breakers". Multiple earrings. Short skirts. Ankle socks. Late coming. Coloured hair. Colourful shoes. Overdue homeworks. But still, the whole lot of us survived the year.
CCAs were held over in Toh Tuck Campus. Every important event were held there. Unhappiness. Not satisfied. All negative feelings bundled into one. Segregation which is so obvious.
PU2 fun day. Can't really remember what happened though.
Project Work. Oral presentation. Endless days in the computer labs. Endless meetings during the weekends. All for a one day presentation which is even less than an hour. All because of 10%(?) of the total score for university admission.

2005, A Levels. Hand over office. Sad. Kinda. I dunno. MI-B 1st SC jersey. =)
PU3 retreat to Bintan. Cool. Walked from Toh Tuck campus to Bukit Batok St 11, the new campus site. More segregation. They sing, we stand up and leave. The OI tshirt. BBQ. Spa. Shopping. A lot of memories for a 3D2N trip.
Grad Night at Pan Pacific Hotel. Nice food. Dikir barat performance by the teachers. Tears were shed. Hugs. Pictures. Memories.

Remember when there's a heavy downpour, there'll be a flood on the highest of the classroom block, and we will fold lots of paper boats and let them sail through the corridor?
Remember how we will laugh at the teachers joke, only after they tell us it's meant to be a joke?
Remember how bad the food was that we had to resort to bringing packed food from home or calling for MacDonald's, KFC or Pizza Hut deliveries?
Remember how teachers will entertain our silly questions when it's nearing to our exams? And it doesn't matter if the teacher never taught us but they will still know us.
Remember?

Today marks the last day of MI bartley campus, Outram Institute. As well as the Toh Tuck Campus, Jurong Institute It was kind of sad actually. As much as I dread the school (it looks like a hospital), feel kinda sad that the school will be no more. I sure will feel awkward when I pass by Bartley Road to get home in the future, the plot of land where there once stood a school which mould me to what I am today will be no more.

The school sure brings back alot of memories. The small population made it better. Everybody knows everybody. And we were very united in a way.

The school makes us feel like home. It feels like my second home personally.

I am going to miss the school. Seriously.

First & foremost, I would like to warn you that this is a long, long entry.

24th December 2006, Sunday

Went out with the sisters on christmas eve. The young sister wanted to shop. The younger sister wanted to clear her voucher. And the youngest sister, well, she just tagged along.

Took the car from Abang's place and off we went. First stop was Centrepoint. Kakak bought her Swarovski crytals. She aims to get a Swarovski crystal figurine to represent the number of years she has been working, which is six years. She started this thing like last month or so. So now she already bought 2, she has another 4 to go. Suka hati dia la. Duit dia kan.

Hungry sisters we were. Thought of eating at Pizza Hut. But decided to have dessert first so we had fondue at Haagen-Daaz. Amni's first time having fondue. Kakak's first time having fondue at Haagen-Daaz. =)

Kakak didn't want to be in the picture after learning that I'll put up the pics on my blog. =p

After which, we realised we were too full to be eating a proper meal and so went to watch a movie at The Cathay. First time for both of them. Heh.

Watched The Curse of the Golden Flower. Great movie I tell you. Should go and watch. And Jay Chou looks HOT in the movie.

Total hotness, yes?

But of course before the movie, we managed to shop a little. =)
I bought a new bag and a jacket from Adidas. =)

Ended the day with a trip to Beach Road. Bought Nasi Ayam Penyet from Sri Bistari and Sup Tulang and the ice-blended drinks.

25th December 2006, Monday

Christmas Day was spent with my darling. =)

Started out early in the morning. Met at 9.30am. Someone made me wait for 15minutes, ok. Had breakfast at Geylang because yours truly felt like eating soup otak+lidah. Eh, sedap, ok. Though not recommended to those who are still studying. Mom said that eating the internal parts of animals will make your brains slower or something like that.

Bought a couple of tudung-s. Those nice big ones. Walked around. Bought brooches too. Walked around, decided to go Bugis and walked around when we decided that we were hungry so we to have our lunch at that coffee shop behind Bugis Junction.

Wanted to watch The Holiday but takde la. =( Ended up watching Night At The Museum. Another must watch show. Great shows back to back.

*Cool-ness...*

With like 2 hours to spare, walked around Bugis Street because Fadzli wanted to look for a cap. Time nak carik tak jumpa, time tak nak berlambak ada.

Penat sungguh. Seriously. But I love every single moment spent with Fadzli. <3

Last Friday, I did a niat. I dunno what's the english word for "niat".

My niat was, on the following Friday(ie. yesterday), I will change something about myself. But of course I didn't share with anybody this niat of mine, takut-takut pulak tak menjadi kan. I didn't share it with my family neither did I share it with Fadzli. And this niat of mine, it was not due to anybody but it comes sincerely and naturally from my heart.

Before I went to work, I asked my nephew, "Abg, Acik klakar tak?" and he nodded his head. I was kind of devastated. But when my adik saw me, she said, "Kan sweet gini.." and my Mom, "Macam gini la Mak suka...". My Mom told me not to believe it when my nephew nodded because firstly, he might not understand and secondly, he might have thought that I asked him whether I am funny, not whether I look funny. Dad, he was smiling away. =)

When I arrived at the office in the morning yesterday, I was one of the first. Actually, I was the third to arrive. And considering that I am sitting at the reception area, there is no way I can "escape".

The first person to see me was Kak Normah. She came in and at first she didn't notice it was me. But when she realise it was me, she smiled. Syikin was the next one, and she hugged me. Abg Salleh teasingly said I am the new staff and then bersyukur. Kak Sa'adah and Khalisah was like happy for me. Yati, she didn't notice it was me and when she realise that it was me, she was like happy for me too. Kak Marsila too. And Kak Seri. =)

Kak Mariah was on urgent leave. =(

I guess the positive reaction of the people around me is what gave me the encouragement.

Fadzli, well, sanggup dia tak tido tunggu my MMS of me.

So what's the change in me?

Yes, that's the change.

Took afternoon off just so I could spend time with Fadzli and his kids. Amirah is adorable. And I guess she likes me. =)

We went White Sands. Had our lunch and walked around. After which, we took the MRT to Tampines.

Maybe next time we can go out of the east side, yes? Of course when I have more confidence. And please bring the pram next time, ok?
